Our Learning

So far this term we have been learning the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We learnt the beginning, middle and end of the story using a story map and well known story language. Using our knowledge of the story we then created our own story maps, changing one thing about Jack and the Beanstalk, such as the characters names, what animal Jack sells, what he receives in return and what grows outside his bedroom window. The children are now moving on to write their own stories.

As well as learning the story, we planted our own bean seeds and discussed what our seeds to grow and how we can look after them. The children have been talking about the changes in their seeds each day and we are making our own class bean diary.

Last week we were learning how to tell the time and experimented in making o'clock times using our clocks. We talked about what we do at certain times of the day.

This term we have also started our weekly Forest School sessions. We have loved sitting around the campfire; making and toasting bread! Delicious!
