Spirituality at Shurdington
At Shurdington, we define spirituality as “the golden glue which fills the gaps caused by the ‘ows,’ ‘wows’ and even ‘nows’ of life.”
As described by the Diocese of Gloucester:
- The ‘wows’ are our awe and wonder moments. The times when you want to bretaher in an capture the feeling, holding onto it as long as you can.
- ‘Ows’ are the blows life can bring. They knock the breath out of you.
- ‘Nows’ are every day ordinary times: being present in the moment, being open and aware of everything going on around you.
We develop the spirituality in our children through a number of ways, including our worship, dedicated spiritual spaces around the school, our curriculum including Forest Schools, 'Prayer Days' and our 'Experience Days'.
