Being an Eco School
At Shurdington we care deeply about environmental issues and have a strong desire to actively protect our planet. We learn about environmental issues regularly in worship and as part of curriculum learning. We also work with the church to have a joint 'eco-week' each year. We have gained the Christian Aid Global Neighbours Bronze accreditation and the Eco-Schools Green Flag award with a distinction.
As a school we have also signed up to 'Let’s Go Zero', a national campaign uniting teachers, pupils, parents and their schools as they all work together to be zero carbon by 2030.
The church is also a bronze eco church and school has been asked to contribute to Diocese training on the eco work we have done.
